The living is easy with a big moviegoing end to the summer – first we take a brief spin on the big wheel in the sky that is Elysium, Neil Blomkamp’s follow up to District 9. Then we dive deep into the “documentary of the decade”, The Act of Killing. And we round it out with thoughts on a bunch of other new movies, Blue Jasmine, Fruitvale Station, Drinking Buddies and I’m So Excited just to name a few. The fish are jumping.

Phil, Greg and Andy close out 2012 in grand fashion with Zero Dark Thirty, Kathryn Bigelow’s take on the manhunt for Osama Bin Laden. Then, Greg treats us to a few bars from the big screen adaption of Les Miserables, Phil ponders his favorite book being turned into a movie in Walter Salles’ adaption of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road and Andy just kills it on Killing Them Softly. A happy new moviegoing year to all.
